Capture

Hello there comic book fans, I got an amazing spotlight for you today, something that is once in a blue moon event, the selling of thy most highly sought after comic book in history, Action Comics #1. This is the holy grail of comic collectors, something that every comic book collector cant have yet always dream of having and its up for auction on Ebay right now as of August 9, 2014. And with only 5 more days until the auction ends, if your a multimillionaire, then you better get started on bidding, man I’m dying to have this but currently at $1,950,100, it will only be a dream of mine to ever own a copy, hell, I doubt I’ll ever even get to see or touch a real copy in my lifetime.

This is THE comic book that started it all. This comic features not only the first appearance of Superman, Clark Kent and Lois Lane, but this comic began the entire superhero genre that has followed during the 76 years since. It is referred to as the Holy Grail of comics and this is the finest graded copy to exist with perfect white pages. This is …. the Mona Lisa of comics and stands alone as the most valuable comic book ever printed.

This particular copy is the nicest that has ever been graded, with an ASTONISHING grade of CGC 9.0 ! To date, no copies have been graded higher and only one other copy has received the same grade. It is fair to say though that this copy blows the other 9.0 out of the water. Compared to the other 9.0 that sold for $2.1million several years ago it has significant superior eye appeal, extremely vibrant colors and PERFECT WHITE PAGES. This means after 76 years the aging process has yet to begin. Truly this book is a museum piece. It is one of only two copies of this comic in ANY condition to ever be graded with the distinction of having White pages, the other being a CGC 2.5 !

If you are looking to purchase or invest in comic books this is without exaggeration the single best graded comic book that exists. It is the highest graded copy of the most sought after comic book in the hobby, and has the best possible page quality that can be assigned.  If anyone has ever been curious what an Action Comics 1 looked like the day it came off of the newsstand 75 years ago, this is the answer.

Even if you can’t buy this amazing comic book, at least you can witness history here, comic book history, watching the sell of thy most expensive, most coveted comic book in history and the highest graded copy, this will definitely be a once in a geek’s lifetime event. Again this auction ends Aug 24, 2014 18:00:02 PDT, so don’t miss out on either watching this amazing auctioning event, or if your rich, bidding on this amazing comic book. I will definitely update with the winning bid when this auction ends, because it will no doubt be a historic number in comic book purchases.

Update: Well here the update folks, Action Comics #1 CGC 9.0 has set a record for the highest payed amount for a comic book, the record setting figure is $3,207,852.00, a comic book historic event.

The Comic Book After Market!

TBA12Hey there comic book lovers, I’m here to report to you on the ever fluctuating market of the comic book investing and after market world, talking about some of the hottest comic books on the market right now, and some of the high money making ones as well. For me I love collecting comics that can command high values just for the fact that I have a valuable and rare book and the experience of the hunt for them, but for others that only looking at it as an investment or a quick and high turn around, hopefully this list will help everyone.

Walking Dead #1 – $2,360 – a high grade of this title can easily fetch for a average of over a thousand if your a unlucky seller.

Walking Dead #2 – $535 – up from $380.

Walking Dead #3 – $350 – Walking Dead has proved quite the return on investment, no?

Walking Dead #19 – $355 – the 1st appearance of Michonne has kept this later issue up there with the earlier issues.

Walking Dead #27 –$176 -for this first appearance of the Governor, this issue has remain in the range of $150 and only if you a lucky seller do u get above the range of $200, so this issue hasn’t have much of a higher increase from a year ago like the others,.

Preacher #1 – $370 – With the recent AMC TV news, this issue has seen sales and values increase rather quickly.

Preacher Preview #0 –$350 – a preview comic sent out free to stores to advertise the comic, it is insanely valuable now because so many were thrown away.

Chew #1 – $350 – this used to be a fifty dollar book when it came out, and then it hold steady at $150 for a time, but thanks to the new animated series being recorded it got a new resurgence in the market.

Batman Adventures #12 – $325 – relatively from nowhere the first comic featuring Harley Quinn has rocketed to the top of the table.

Elseworlds Eighty Page Giant$316 – reprinted of late, but its been putting on value.

Elseworlds80-PageGiantRecalledCover

Bone #1 $300 – this however has crashed from $800 two years ago back to this level.

Amazing Spider-Man #300 – $300 while the 1st appearance of Venom has recovered its value nicely.

Avengers #55 – $1,336 – after news that Ultron will be the villian of the second Avengers movie, his 1st appereance have been commanding some crazy high prices.

Iron Man #55 – $550 – another comic book that is enjoying a surge in demand thanks to the movies is this gem, the 1st appearance of Thanos, most high grade copies of this usually automatically command over $300.

Walking Dead #4 – $237

New Mutants #98 – $231

Y_the_Last_Man_1

Y The Last Man #1 – $208

Walking Dead #18 – $202

Walking Dead #6 – $200

The next few are more of the unknowns for me, I wouldn’t really think these issues would command such high prices, being that they are not very popular or well known besides to maybe the crazy fans or underground comic lovers, which kinda represents the comic book market, things will go down and things will go up, and things well be in demand and others won’t. I definitely believe in the motto that something is only worth how much someone is willing to pay for it, a Action Comic is only worth over a million if there is a millionaire willing to pay that much for it.

Jawbreaker – Marvel’s Hard Hitting Heroes Special – $226 – cant figure out why a collection of reprints, reprints of issues that are nothing special even, is also getting such big bucks for.

Knights Of The Dinner Table #1 – $217 – not being much of a indie comic book fan nor a fan of the topic of the title, I wouldn’t have seen this one coming.

The Crow #1 – $210

Peter Panzerfaust #1 – $220 – this issue I’m kinda surprise with too, it’s a ok story but I didn’t expect it to go this high, I guess because talks that it may go to either the big or silver screen this title is enjoying a surge of desire by comic book collectors.

Now know that the comic book market is a very fickle beast, prices can easily fluctuate so be warned if your out to only make money, there are very few books that will always command big bucks throughout time, many books don’t stand the test of time in the comic book after market. I feel that many of the books that are getting a surge in price thanks to movies and TV shows fall into the category of the ones that may not stand the test of time, these comics are better fits for selling quick and selling at the right time, like when they movie or show hits the world and was successful at it as well. And if you like what you see and read then please, share, like, and comment, help us spread the loving.
