Hello there movie lovers, today I wanted to talk about the movie Chronicles, a movie about three high school friends who” gain superpowers of telekinesis, flight, and invulnerability after making an incredible discovery in a mysterious crater. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides.” The movie is scheduled for release on February 3, 2012, and stars Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Michael Kelly, Alex Russell and is directed by Josh Trank, yes pretty all un-nones/newcomers to the industry. And to top it off, yes I did feel that this was another super power movie without a history to back it up or drawn people in (i.e. created from a comic book), so it would be like all the other movies that try to cash in on the superhero (or super power) cash cow that is happening these days.
But, I found out that this movie was unexpectedly very interesting, with a take that I haven’t seen anywhere, the movie had something other super power base movie didn’t haven’t for me, good character driven and tense. We have a very believe test of character, with three ordinary teenage boys given incredible powers which they now uses to play and have fun, but soon comes the realization that there is no more the human limits that we all know about, there comes the undefined super human limits that the boys are now pushing. So film’s characters are trying to set some reasonable rules for the use of powers, but least one of the others doesn’t give a damn. So ya, the whole what would you do if you had super power scenario, but in this movie a very believable, fun looking, and thrilling take on it.
So don’t let any preconceive notions steer you away from keeping this movie out, I feel that this movie may be a sleeper hit or just a other good time at the movie theaters, so be sure to check it out in theaters February 3, 2012.
